Longer Games of Cricket

The list of teams who have entered the Gloucestershire Youth leagues in 2010 (GCB Longer game of cricket) is now finalised and can be found by clicking the link left. The response has been much greater than anticipated. Games will take place on a Sunday morning or afternoon and will feature clubs from the entire Gloucestershire area split into North and South Divisions. Please note that the current SDCA Youth leagues will be mostly unaffected - the ONLY change we may consider is giving clubs the option of playing Under 13 cricket on another evening. Teams are free to choose whether to join these new leagues (at any age level), continue to play their Youth cricket through the SDCA or both ! The current basic premise for the new leagues is below

Gloucestershire Junior League’ to take place on Sundays
U11’s – 30 overs – Sunday morning 10am – 2pm
U13’s – 40 overs – Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm
U15’s – 45 overs – Sunday afternoons from 2.30pm
U17’s – 45 overs – Sunday afternoons from 2.30pm
U11’s and U15’s to run on same Sunday
U13’s and U17’s to run on same Sunday (but not the same as above!)
Depending on clubs interested, 6 games per age group, 1 Division (North/South), no re-arrangements in the event of poor weather or teams unable to raise a side
Games to run from May through to August – interspersed between District games.
Clubs can ‘merge’ to form a side
Other grounds to be made available for fixtures to be played
