Morss Ton sees Eastcombe Close Gap
Paul Morss hit his first Eastcombe century as he scored 123 and combined with Anth Perrins (91) for a match winning partnership. Matt Curtis hit his fourth fifty of the season in reply but Woodchester finished short on a creditable 195. Both Rockhampton III and Frocester IV suffered defeats. Frocester IV's mini slump continues as Bisley defeated them by 8 wickets. Jez Fern took 5-39 and Tom Hopkins 4-37 as Frocester IV were dismissed for 78. Only Callum Gegg (24) and Sean Little (27) reached double figures. Despite 2-14 from Tom Birch, Dan Wallington's unbeaten 44 lead Bisley to a much needed win. Minch completed a double over Rockhampton III in a close game. Rockhampton III scored 166-8 with G Morgan top scoring with 33 and Tom Shearman taking 3 wickets. Minch then slipped to 23-4 but old heads John Wood (29), Pete Wand (39) and Stephen Rogers with an unbeaten 33 steered them home by two wickets despite 3-33 from Tom Cullimore and 3-48 from Neil Higginson. Tormarton's 112 (Jim Fannon 35, Dave Tudor 3-21) did not seem enough at home to Slimbridge but the 9 men then proceeded to limit Slimbridge to 93 as Ben Spires took 5-29 and Derham and Bell two wickets each. Leonard Stanley's Marcus Collins took 4-41 to restrict Hardwicke to 115 and Chris Uzzell then hit an unbeaten 38 to see the home team to a 4 wicket win. Clubs will be fined for non notification of scores via play-cricket. Summary results (including rain offs) must be entered by 12 noon Sunday with full results entered by Wednesday p.m.

Everyman Cancer
In September Hardwicke's James Van Nijkerk is undertaking a charity car rally through Europe to raise money for Everyman, a male cancer research charity. Everyman aims to break the taboos surrounding prostate and testicular cancer and raise awareness. The cost of the rally will come via James' pocket (and that of two colleagues) meaning all the money raised goes to charity. To donate go to www.justgiving.com/DDJ - it's quick, easy and painless.
