Frocester dominate U13 Age group
Frocester were dominant in the SDCA Under 13 Competitions in 2010. Both their A and B teams finished top of their respective leagues and they capped a fine season by winning the K.O. Cup competition.Weather was not a major factor for a change as only 2 fixtures from a total of 21 were unplayed. In League A, Frocester A finished with 16 points after winning 5 of their 6 fixtures – their other game was cancelled. Hardwicke finished on the same points as Frocester but are runners up as they were beaten by the champions to record their only defeat. Painswick finish 3rd after a strong season where they won 4 of their 6 fixtures. In League B, Frocester again prevailed as their B side won maximum points from 7 games. Cam B finished runners up on 18 points after winning 5 of their 8 games and they were followed by Chalford with 16 points from 8 games. The K.O. Cup once again suffered from a few clubs conceding their matches as two quarter finals resulted in walk-overs. The final was eventually contested at the picturesque old Frampton ground on the Green and Frocester saved their best to last as they defeated Painswick. Alex Ireland (122) and Ben Tegg (72) batted superbly and found the small boundaries with ease as Frocester piled up 233-2 from just 20 overs. Painswick battled gamely but were never in the hunt as Frocester ran out deserved winners.
