1.
Players (boys and girls) must be under 13 on the September Ist
prior to the competition. Any team fielding an over age player
risks forfeiting
any points won.
2. Entry fees £10 for the League, £10 for the Cup - per team.
3. Players must be members of the
club they represent. No player may play for more than one club
unless permission given by League organiser.
4. If a club has two teams in the same league, no player can switch
between teams

Pitch to be 21 yards in length
6. A ball of 4¾oz to be used.
7. Matches to commence at 9.45am.
8. Each side to provide a competent umpire and scorer
9. No underarm bowling allowed
10. A time out is allowed after 10 overs of each innings to enable coaches
to talk to their respective teams. Please keep these time outs to a minimum.
11. Safety: Batsmen must wear helmets, protectors, two pads and gloves.
Fielders must not field within 10 yards of the striker, except in the
slip area

League winners will be the side with most points. If there is a
tie result between teams involved will decide winners
13. The league organiser must be notified of results within 5
working days. The home team can either email the results
(plus highlights and a report if
necessary)
to admin@sdca-cricket.co.uk or send the result by post. Failure to send
a result in by the time allowed will result in a £5 fine.

Playing
rules for League A only
Each
innings to be of 20 overs if possible. Fewer overs can be played
subject to the Captains agreement to a minimum of 10 overs
per side.
Bowlers
to be limited to bowling 4 overs. Batsmen do not have to ‘retire’ (but
it is hoped managers will use their discretion over the length of an innings).
The side scoring the most runs will win. If sides level after 20 overs, the side
losing fewer wickets will win, if still undecided match decided by score at end
of 15th over.
Points
: one point for each completed game, winner get further two points.
Matches
in League A called off due to bad weather do not need to be replayed -
each team will be awarded one point. |
Playing
rules for Leagues B and C
Each team shall comprise of 8 players. In the event of one
team only being able to field 7 players, and where the
opposition cannot help out by lending
this team an extra player, a player can bat twice. However, to avoid
unfair advantage, the opposition coach has the right, following the completion
of batting by the third
pair, to choose which player bats again.
Each match to be one innings per side, this innings to be of 20 overs.
The batting side to be divided into pairs, each pair batting for 5 overs.
Safety: Batsmen must wear helmets, protectors, two pads and gloves. Fielders
must not field within 10 yards of the striker, except in the slip area.
Each side to be awarded 200 runs at the commencement of the innings.
Batsmen shall have unlimited 'lives'. Each life lost shall be recorded on
the score sheet. 8 runs shall be deducted from the total for each life (wicket)
lost. Batsmen to change ends at the fall of each wicket except on the last ball
of an over. In run out situations make sure the non-striker faces the next delivery.
Every player on the fielding side must bowl except the wicket keeper. No
player may bowl more than 4 overs. No underarm bowling allowed.
Bowlers run-ups restricted to about 10 yards. Umpires should ensure that
bowler’s run-ups are restricted to this. To ensure this is adhered to,
the 10-yard line shall be clearly marked by a white line
Wides will be awarded as 2 runs and no more than eight balls including wides
will be bowled per over except for normal rules for the last over in the game.
Coaches and umpires should ensure that no fielder is closer than 10 yards
from the bat (except for slip/wicket-keeper).
The side with the highest number of runs shall be the winner
Points: 3 for a win, 2 for a tie, 1 for no result (cancelled or abandoned)
1 for a defeat.
League B and C matches called off due to bad weather need not be re-arranged

each
team will be awarded one point. Games cancelled for any other reason should be
re-arranged subject to the consent of both teams and the League organiser informed.
Games must be played by the
cut-off date for the League (in 2008, Sunday July 26th); otherwise both teams
will
be
awarded
1
point.

Playing
rules for K.O.Cup
As per League A rules i.e. matches played over 20 overs with 11-a-side.
In addition, the
first round of the cup will be scheduled as part of the fixtures before
the season begins and will take place on the regular Sunday morning (start
9.45am). Subsequent rounds will not be officially scheduled - teams will
be notified of the draw and the home team will be responsible for providing
the opposition with 2 dates within a scheduled time period - these can
take place on weeknights and should not interfere with Sunday fixtures.
